You’re invited!

On Saturday 8 May, the Planning Institute of Australia and Queensland Walks are hosting free walks exploring the Kelvin Grove Urban Village as well as the Petrie Terrace neighbourhood, as part of the international Jane’s Walk Festival.

Kelvin Grove
Join urban designer John Byrne MPIA (Life Fellow) – a key driver in creating the urban village – and urban planner Nick Kamols PIA (Assoc) for a walking conversation around the Kelvin Grove Urban Village – a multi-award-winning renewal project on brownfield land close to the Brisbane city centre. This walk will explore how the wide mix of uses – retail, office, education, community and recreation – combined with a significant amount of affordable rental and market housing to create a vibrant neighbourhood.

Petrie Terrace
Join prominent urban planner and Queensland Walks Board Member Greg Vann RPIA (Life Fellow) for a walking conversation around Petrie Terrace, where you will wander the back streets and alleys of one of Brisbane’s earliest communities. We will make our way to Caxton Street to the Barracks where you’ll be in time for afternoon tea or a drink.
