We represent walking for all Queenslanders

Queenslanders stepped it up to for their health and wellbeing in 2020!

One of the things we love about 10,000 Steps is that you can do your steps anywhere, any way, any time and make it a part of your every day. Whether it’s walking to the local shops or your playground, or letting the doggo take you for their walk, every little step counts towards your daily goal getting to where we live, work, learn and play. #everymovecounts

2020 has seen Queenslanders logging on to the 10,000 Steps website in record numbers with the program reporting a significant increase in new users and steps being logged during COVID-19! Queenslanders came together as one team in May to collectively log 1 billion steps in only 32 days and thousands of steppers have taken part in team Tournaments. Feedback from the Tournaments showed that staff were connecting more through their online steps, and challenges have provided the opportunity for a positive conversation focusing on physical and mental wellbeing and team cohesion while having fun (and encouraging them to walk more in their neighbourhood)!

The program is also excited to be working with many communities and groups by encouraging more walkable neighbourhoods with 10,000 Steps walkway signage on recreational routes in Queensland locations. If you have seen the 10,000 Steps signs in your neighbourhood, send a photo or selfie and let Queensland Walks, and 10,000 Steps know where!

Finish the year and start the year the rightway. Stay on track this summer

2021 is a year to celebrate
