NPAQ’s August Park of the Month – Bunyaville Conservation Park

The Parks Connect Park of the Month for August is a morning of celebration and connection with nature at beautiful Bunyaville Conservation Park, Albany Creek.

This FREE event is an opportunity to connect with culture and the community, chat to a Park Ranger and find out all about the great work being done to conserve Queensland’s protected areas and the species that find sanctuary in them.

This month, guests and attendees will:

• Be welcomed to Country by the Turrbal Traditional Owners with Turrbal Dippal.
• Learn about the importance of fire management in our protected areas with Ranger Dave.
• Take a stroll with Dr Kate Dutton-Regester from Wildlife Queensland’sEchidnaWatch program to look for and learn about one of Australia’s most iconic (and spiky) mammals, the short-beaked echidna.
•  Have the opportunity to get involved in a month-long iNaturalist BioBlitz that showcases this conservation park’s flora, fauna and fungi.
• Learn all about aquatic waterway health with a spot of ponding to test the PH of Bunyaville’s creek and closely examine the macroinvertebrates that dwell within these waters, led by Bunyaville Environmental Education Centre.
