We represent walking for all Queenslanders

Our Social Impact

Queensland Walks is a social impact organisation that combines a strong community purpose with a sustainable funding model incorporating income-generating services, grants and fundraising.

We deliver walkability assessments through Q-Walkshops, research, community engagement, education and advisory services to governments, organisations and communities, using our specialist expertise to help create safer, more accessible and inviting places.

Our Walkshops are facilitated, place-based workshops that take learning out of the meeting room and into the streets and places being examined. They bring together community members, government, professionals and other stakeholders to identify barriers and opportunities, share lived experience and explore practical improvements to walkability, accessibility, safety and comfort.

Our social impact mission is to improve everyday life for Queenslanders by increasing access, participation and opportunities to walk. We focus particularly on removing the barriers that prevent people from walking, running, rolling and strolling safely, comfortably and independently.

Revenue generated through our services helps sustain and grow our social impact. It enables Queensland Walks to reinvest in community initiatives, encourage volunteerism, research, advocacy and practical programs that improve walking environments and deliver lasting benefits for communities across Queensland.

Queensland Walks is a ‘Good Market: Good for People. Good for the Planet.’ organisation.Â
