Congratulations is in order… of the Order of Australia medal variety! Queensland Walks would like to announce that our new President, Angela Wright, has been recognised with a 2022 Australia Day Honour.
Angela Wright has been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for services to recreation and sport on 26 January 2022.
Angela’s career and service has been spread over 42 years and across a number of voluntary and paid positions.
“It was an honour and a privilege to be recognised by the Governor General and her peers. I am humbled to receive this recognition and thank those who took the time to make and contribute to the application process” says Angela Wright, President of Queensland Walks.
We take this opportunity to congratulate Angela and thank her for her dedication to improving the conditions for walking, for recreation and play spaces for all Queenslanders.
