We represent walking for all Queenslanders

Extreme Heat Awareness Day

Heatwaves are Australia’s deadliest environmental disaster. Climate change is making summers longer and hotter, and heatwaves more dangerous. Our cities are sweltering as the urban heat island effect makes it even hotter.

Queensland Walks is teaming up with Sweltering Cities, Australian Red Cross, Cancer Council Queensland and other organisations, experts and other partners across Australia for Extreme Heat Awareness Day on February 4th, 2026!

Queensland Walks will be releasing Call to Actions to highlight the need for Cooler Paths and Places for Walking. Join us by advocating for action on heat policy and design in Queensland.
