Participate in research: Perception of risk of pedestrian trauma and its association with walking intentions

You are invited to participate in this research project if you are aged 18 years or older.

About this research: This research is being undertaken as part of Javier Rodriguez’s PhD.

The purpose of this research project is to assess individuals’ perceptions of risk of pedestrian trauma and their association with walking intentions, expectations, and willingness.

What does participation involve?

Participation will involve completing a 96 item online survey. Questions will include:

Please indicate on the scale provided below the extent to which you agree or disagree with the following statements: I will walk at least 30 minutes a day for 5 days a week for transport, leisure, or exercise in the public space during the next two weeks.
How likely is that you will get hit by a vehicle when walking for transport, leisure, or exercise in the next two weeks?
How important is it that governments implement interventions to reduce risk of pedestrian injury when walking for transport, leisure, or exercise?
