We represent walking for all Queenslanders

Announcing the 2025 Queensland Walks Month theme: ‘Walk My Queensland’

Walk My Queensland

What Does ‘Walk My Queensland’ mean?

Walk My Queensland is the theme for Queensland Walks Month 2025 — a celebration of walking, rolling, running, and strolling in every part of our great state.

It’s a call to action for all Queenslanders to get outside and explore our local streets, parks, footpaths, trails and towns. Whether you live in the city, the bush, on the coast or in the suburbs, Walk My Queensland is about discovering the places that matter to you — and sharing what makes walking in your community enjoyable, challenging, or in need of change.

Launch of Pawgust in Queensland Walks Month with Health and Well-being, Guide Dogs. Hosted by Governor Young.

By ‘walking my Queensland’, you’re:

  • 🧭 Connecting with country, place, and community
  • 👟 Noticing what makes walking easy or difficult where you live
  • 📸 Sharing stories, photos, and ideas to help improve walkability for everyone
  • 🤝 Being part of a statewide movement to make Queensland a healthier, more accessible and more active and liveable place.

You can get involved by:

  • Doing a Walk My Street” check — observing and reporting on what walking is like in your neighbourhood
  • Joining a local walk or hosting one yourself
  • Sharing your walks online with #WeWalkQld #QLDWalks #WalkMyQueensland

Together, let’s walk our Queensland — for transport, for health, for joy, and for change.
